Scheduled for an introduction at the Cannes yacht show in September, the new Outer Reef Classic 630 MY represents a contemporary version of a large, comfortable cruising yacht that would stand out at ports around the world. With three staterooms, two heads, a large salon, and a traditional pilothouse (with a centered helm for the captain and a raised, L-shaped settee with a table for guests), the Outer Reef 630 is set up both for safe, extended cruising for a family and friends or for entertaining a crowd closer to home.

Starting aft, the Outer Reef 630 has a large teak swim platform leading to the cockpit, which is protected by an overhang from the bridge deck above. The cockpit has a settee aft with a table for dining or socializing; a sliding door leads to the salon, representing a major social area. Aft to port is a large L-shaped sofa and table, plus an easy chair, facing two more easy chairs to starboard. There’s teak everywhere, on the wall paneling, with a satin finish, and teak cabinetry and lockers. The TV is on the bulkhead between the salon and the galley, forward to port. The ready-to-cruise galley has Corian countertops, a 36” side-by-side fridge and freezer, dishwasher, electric cooktop and oven and microwave. The helm is centered in the pilothouse, with a Stidd helm chair, a custom Outer Reef wood steering wheel and an overhead electronics panel.

Below, the accommodations deck features a full-beam, midships master stateroom with a king-sized berth with storage under, two hanging lockers with teak-faced doors, a walk-in closet, and an en suite head and shower. The VIP cabin in the bow has a tapered queen-sized berth with teak storage drawers under, and two steps up on each side for easy access. The large head and shower here is shared with the guest cabin to port, which has two bunk berths and one hanging locker.

Up top, the flybridge is protected by a hardtop. The helm is centered, with a large L-shaped settee and table to port, and a large boat deck aft. On the bow, there’s also a social seating area nestled up against the Portuguese bridge. The engine room is a big plus on the Outer Reef 360, with standing headroom and easy access to the twin John Deere 500-hp diesels.
