Best Spots To Watch the Fourth of July Fireworks from Your Boat

Any time is a great time to have a boat, of course, but the Fourth of July is perhaps one of the best times of all, particularly if you use your boat to watch the fireworks. Somehow the celebration of the nation’s birthday seems more festive from the water; it seems to connect us to the past, and to remind us that it really wasn’t all that long ago that we declared our independence from a government and an empire located across the Atlantic.

If you do watch the fireworks from your boat, you won’t be lonely. Almost 12 million boats join in on some kind of Fourth of July festivities across the country, so it’s a good idea to be extra careful: Don’t drink and drive, don’t overload the boat, and don’t get tangled up in somebody else’s anchor line. But do have fun.

Here’s a great list from Dockwa of fireworks you can see from your boat, listed state by state, from the east coast to the Great Lakes to the west coast (the Gulf states are here too). Just click on your state to see what’s near you. They publish it every year, so it’s pretty thorough. Find the best one for you and your friends. Just remember to get back to your home dock or mooring safely. For more:
