Raymarine just unveiled its new Axiom+ multifunction navigation displays plus new, updated Lighthouse electronic charts. Axiom+ is the successor to Raymarine’s award-winning Axiom line of MFDs. Raymarine says the new Axiom+ displays are smarter, brighter and tougher than ever before.

The new displays come in 7-, 9-, and 12-inch sizes, and they have a quad-core processor for fast chart redraws, multi-channel sonar views, and augmented reality navigation. Storage is increased to 16 MB. (The 12-inch display is shown above.)

Axiom+ displays are up to 25 percent brighter than previous models. And they are more user-friendly, with HydroTouch impact-resistant glass that is built to repel water, oil and smudges for better viewing. They also have wider viewing angles and sharper contrast than before.

For underwater viewing, Axiom+ has four built-in sonar channels, including Raymarine’s RealVision 3D. And for viewing at any time, the displays have different color palettes optimized for viewing in bright sun, dusk, and nighttime lighting.

Along with the new displays, Raymarine unveiled its new electronic catalog of LightHouse Charts, all from official hydrographic sources. They offer new levels of clarity, detail and customization, and give users the ability to explore on-shore destinations and points of interest.

“Axiom+ takes everything boaters enjoy about Axiom and elevates the user experience with increased performance, simpler navigation, and superior visibility,” said Gregoire Outters, Raymarine VP.

For prices, the 7-inch display starts at $749, 9-inch at $1,099, and 12-inch at $2,499. Read more:
