Beneteau Planning New Gran Turismo 41 Express Cruiser

Beneteau is working on a new Gran Turismo 41 express cruiser, an upgrade of the Gran Turismo 40 that it introduced in 2016. The 40 was not only popular, but it also was named European Powerboat of the Year.

The new 41 is more powerful than the 40, and is designed with more entertaining and lounging spaces. It has two cabins and one head below; there also is a lower lounge and a full galley there.

But the 41 also will have an upper, outdoor galley on the port side of the cockpit, with a sink, fridge, electric grill and ice maker. A large, U-shaped lounge, with a facing table, will fit on the starboard side of the cockpit. The aft section of that lounge now will be higher than in the 40 for easier access, and a new aft-facing sun lounge will be set by the swim platform.

Also new is the large one-piece windshield that gives the captain an unrestricted view forward; visibility is virtually 360-degrees on the boat, since the aft section of the helm deck is open. An expanded social area is on the foredeck, with a large sun pad with reclining backs; for protection from the sun, there’s also a new  retractable canopy.

The new Gran Turismo 41 has Beneteau’s patented AirStep hull, developed to provide a stable and efficient ride at all boat speeds. The 41 can be driven by twin 300-hp Volvo sterndrives, producing a 23-knot cruising speed and a 33-knot top speed, or twin 380-hp Volvos, producing a 27-knot cruise and 38-knot top.

The boat also has a full Garmin electronics  package, a joystick-controlled bow thruster, and Zipwake automatic trim tabs.

Below, the master cabin is forward, with a queen bed and two large panoramic windows in the hull sides. The second cabin, also full beam, is aft, with two single beds that can be converted to a double. The galley is between the two cabins; the lounge there, which can seat four people for dining, also can be converted in to an extra bed.

The new Gran Turismo 41 is scheduled to be launched by the middle of next year.

Specs.: LOA: 41’1”; Beam: 12’6”; Draft: NA.; Disp.: 17,495 lbs.; Fuel: 171 gals.; Water: 52 gals.; Power: 2×300-hp Volvo Penta sterndrives or 2×380-hp Volvo Penta sterndrives. Read more:
