The Beneteau Group just launched its first all-electric boat, the 35-foot Delphia 11, designed to cruise lakes and rivers in peace and quiet, leaving no emissions behind. Beneteau bought Delphia, a Polish builder, in 2018. It is now the first company in the sweeping Beneteau fleet to build totally electric boats. Its lineup will include seven boats from 30 to 42 feet, including the Delphia 10 series designed by British designer Tony Castro and the Dutch design firm, Vripack, last September. The new Delphia 11 will have a single 56kW (80-hp) Torqeedo Deep Blue 50i 1400 electric motor with one…

Silver Arrows Marine just introduced their super-sleek new 460GT, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, at the Palma boat show in Spain. The new luxury yacht, made to look, and perform, like a Mercedes sports car, is made by Baltic Yachts in Finland. Silver Arrows, in the UK, has a license with Mercedes to develop Mercedes-style yachts. Silver Arrows says the 460 Granturismo combines the performance of Mercedes sports cars with innovations from the boating industry. They call it a crossover boat, combining the advantages of an open boat with those of an overnight cruiser. Ron Gibbs, the chairman of Silver…

Numarine, the Turkish builder of high-end cruisers, just announced that it’s building a new 22XP, the entry-level yacht in its expedition fleet. The 74-foot yacht is scheduled to make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. Numarine’s XP line now stretches through five models, topping out at the 147-foot XP45. The company says the new 22 is “ready to sail the seven seas in safety, serenity and freedom.” The 22XP has three decks, three or four staterooms, a large flybridge and a light-colored, light-filled salon. Ömer Malz, the Numarine chairman, says “The 22XP has been a success from…

Solaris is introducing its new, head-turning 40 Open at the Palma show in Spain this week. The 40 comes on the heels of the Solaris 48 Open, which won a European Powerboat of the Year Award two years ago, and then the 44 Open that was nominated for the same award this year. Solaris Yachts has been making notable sailboats at its Italian yard since 1974; they started a power division in 2008, making yachts up to 100 feet. Their Lobster Boat line, with a 48 (pictured below) and 57, are just as eye-opening as the Open models. A new…

A new entry from the UK, Archipelago Expedition Yachts just unveiled its flagship 47-foot cruising catamaran that it says “offers the ultimate adventure.” The first yacht in a new Archipelago Range, the 47 is being built by Chartwell Marine on the Isle of Man. The range will include 38- and 56-foot yachts later on. The Archipelago 47 is designed as an “explorer’s catamaran,” according to the company, with a combination of luxury, fuel efficiency, stability, ocean-going performance and even wheelchair access. Powered by two 420-hp Iveco diesels, the 47 is projected to have a top speed of 30 knots and…

The new Kadey-Krogen 58 EB (Extended Bridge), on display at the Palm Beach show last month, is a solid, full-displacement cruiser ready for an adventure anywhere in the world. With a single 325-hp John Deere diesel, the 58 has a range of 3,775 nm at 7 knots; speed up to 10 knots, and the range drops to 1,050 nm, still a very respectable performance. (Twin engines are optional.) Kadey-Krogen is hardly a newcomer to the world’s blue-water cruising fleet. Indeed, it has made more than 600 cruising boats over the past 45 years at its yard in Taiwan, earning a…

Bavaria Yachts has launched its new SR36 family cruiser, a scaled-down version of the popular SR41 it introduced a year ago, but with slightly more aggressive styling. The sporty new 36 from the German builder of sail and power boats is a two-cabin, one-head family cruiser that’s designed for safe cruising and comfortable living and entertaining on board. Bavaria is offering the boat with a variety of power options, from twin 240-hp to 350-hp gas or diesel engines. The lines for the Bavaria SR36 are from Marco Casali of Too-Design, an architect and superyacht designer in Rome who says that…

Leen Trimarans is putting the final touches on its new flagship 72 in its factory in New Rochelle, France. It plans to sea trial the massive tri in the next few weeks, and then deliver it to its American owner in time for the Annapolis power boat show in October. The Leen 72 is meant to be a fuel-efficient, stable, long-range explorer yacht. The trimaran design has the main 330-hp Cummins diesel in the center hull, with an electric motor is each outer hull. The two electric motors help with low-speed maneuvering and provide silent running with no emissions when…

To say that the 49-foot, Elling E4 cruiser is built to be a safe boat is a bit of an understatement. Just take a look at the video below, showing the boat doing a complete rollover, with company head Anton van den Bos at the helm. And that’s a standard E4, complete with a washer, dryer, pop-up TV and furniture. After the boat righted itself, van den Bos fired up the boat’s 425-hp Cummins and went out for a spin around the harbor. Because they’re built like a lifeboat, Ellings have a CE ocean Category A rating for safety. Back…

Soel, the innovative Dutch builder, just unveiled a new Senses 62 electric-powered catamaran with a massive 564 kWh battery that the company says provides “trans-ocean range.” The 62 is Soel’s latest and largest yacht, and it uses battery packs and solar panels to replenish its power supply at sea. It’s also a massive yacht, with a 33’ 6” beam that represents more than half the cat’s length. That means it carries a lot of luxury space, inside and out. The 62 has sleeping accommodations for nine passengers, plus three crew, who have separate cabins with outside access for privacy. It…
