Here’s the latest from NOAA about El Nino and what it means for the U.S. The expected El Nino has emerged, according to scientists at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, a division of the National Weather Service. In the monthly outlook released today, forecasters issued an El Nino Advisory, noting that El Nino conditions are present and are expected to gradually strengthen into the winter. CNN— The Arctic could be free of sea ice roughly a decade earlier than projected, scientists warn – another clear sign the climate crisis is happening faster than expected as the world continues to pump out planet-heating pollution. The Penfield Reef Light, about 1 mile off the beach in Fairfield, Connecticut, in Long Island Sound, is for sale at a government auction. The going price so far: $360,000. If you buy it, that’s just the starting price.
