EU Ends Retaliatory Tariffs on US Boats

The United States and the European Union have agreed to end the EU’s 25 percent retaliatory tariffs on American-made boats and engines entering the EU. The boating tariffs were part of a larger agreement, announced in a statement by President Biden and Ursula von der Leyden, President of the EU Commission, during the G20 Summit in Rome, that removed US tariffs on steel and aluminum imported from the EU that dated to 2018 and the Trump Administration. Dolphins Lead Cruiser To Rescue Naked Woman

A pod of dolphins lead a sailor to rescue an exhausted naked woman who had been struggling to stay afloat for 12 hours about three miles off Malibu in Southern California. The woman, 26 years old, was gray and suffering from extreme hypothermia when she was rescued and probably would have drowned if she had been in the 66-degree water much longer. She spent three days in the hospital recovering from her ordeal. Boston Boater Indicted in Fatality

The owner of a 37-foot Pursuit that hit a day marker in the Boston Harbor at 3 a.m. last July, killing a woman, has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter. The Suffolk District Attorney, Rachael Rollins, announced that the boat owner, Ryan Denver, 38, was also indicted on counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Denver was driving his Pursuit 365 named Make It Go Away in the early morning of July 17 when it hit day marker “5” off Castle Island head on.
