Aquila Unveils New 50 Power Cat

Aquila just announced that it’s building a new 50 Power Yacht Catamaran that will make its public debut at the Fort Lauderdale show in October. The 50 replaces the now-retired Aquila 48, which was the very first power cat that Aquila made in partnership with MarineMax 12 years ago to supply boats to MarineMax Vacations’ growing charter fleet. Aquilas are made in China by Sino Eagle and sold in the U.S. by MarineMax, the largest powerboat dealer in the world with more than 60 retail locations. The new Aquila will measure 52’ 2” overall with a beam of 25’ 6”;…

Aquila Launching New 47 Power Cat

Aquila will launch its new 47 Molokai Power Catamaran this fall, the third boat and largest boat in its offshore Molokai line that starts at 28 feet. Aquila calls the new 47 the Big Kahuna, and says it’s the first in its new generation of power cats. The 47 Molokai is ready for fishing, with large fishboxes waiting for the day’s catch, but it also can easily serve as a versatile cruiser, with a 14-foot, 7-inch beam providing both stability and lots of room inside and out. A sliding door near the helm provides access to an interior cabin with…

Aquila just announced that it will launch its new 42 Yacht Power Catamaran at the Miami show, starting Feb. 15. It now makes power cats from the 28 Molokai to the 70 Yacht. Aquila Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Aquila power catamarans are marking a major milestone by celebrating their tenth anniversary this summer. The boats, ranging from 28 to 70 feet, are made by Sino Eagle in China and are sold around the world to private owners. They also are put into the charter trade, primarily by MarineMax Vacations, where they have enjoyed a remarkable success and growth. MarineMax Vacations, of course, is part of MarineMax, the retail giant with headquarters in Clearwater, Florida, and 90 locations in 22 countries around the world; it’s the exclusive global distributor for Aquila. In the past ten years, Aquila says it…

Aquila Starts New Line of Offshore Cats

Aquila Power Catamarans just announced that it’s starting a new line of offshore boats called the Aquila 28 Molokai Power Catamaran and the Aquila 28 Molokai Cuddy Power Catamaran. Aquila says the Molokai name was chosen because the new cats are designed to perform like the boats that cruise in the Pacific among the Hawaiian chain of islands. “Aquila enters the offshore segment with a modern twist on a proven Hawaiian layout by shifting the paradigm of innovative boats and designs,” said Lex Raas, the president of Aquila Catamarans. Until now, Aquila has made power cats from 28 to 70…

Aquila To Debut New 70 Flagship in Palm Beach

The new, massive and luxurious Aquila 70 flagship power catamaran will make its U.S. debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, starting March 25. Aquila designed the new cat to look like a yacht, trying to avoid the more squared-off look of some large power catamarans. Lex Raas, the Aquila president, said the company interviewed many customers before they designed the 70, and they said “it needs to look like a yacht, not like a box.” As a result, the 70 has flowing lines and a luxurious aesthetic. The customers also said they wanted performance, Raas said. The 70…

New Aquila 54 Power Cat: An Instant Hit

It would be a considerable understatement to say that the new Aquila 54 Yacht Power Catamaran is a hit right out of the box. Indeed, the big new Aquila has already been nominated as a finalist for the Multihull of the Year Award, and it hasn’t even officially been launched yet. But it’s easy to see why the judges choose the Aquila. Lex Raas, the president of Aquila product development, says that the 54 “breaks new boundaries, bow to stern, on a boat of this size.” He said it has “integrated hull bulbs, optional fully enclosed flybridge, Portuguese bridge, choice…

Aquila sold its 100th 44 PC last May. The Aquila 36, introduced at the Miami show in February, 2017, is a two-cabin, two-head cruiser powered by a variety of Mercury Verado outboards. With a 14’ 7” beam, it provides a lot of usable space for cruising and entertaining. It can hold 20 adults at the dock, and it has sleeping arrangements for six adults, including two in the…
