Bavaria Launches 36 Family Cruiser

Bavaria Yachts has launched its new SR36 family cruiser, a scaled-down version of the popular SR41 it introduced a year ago, but with slightly more aggressive styling. The sporty new 36 from the German builder of sail and power boats is a two-cabin, one-head family cruiser that’s designed for safe cruising and comfortable living and entertaining on board. New, Open, Bavaria SR41: Built for Fun

The Bavaria SR41, just introduced at the Düsseldorf show in January, is another example of the low-profile, fairly-open weekend cruisers designed for maximum enjoyment on the water. The boat has large windows all around; the view from the helm is excellent. What’s also a bit different is that the engine room, with a 300-hp…

The Bavaria Yachts booth at the Miami International Boat Show was always busy, it seemed, and the star of the show there was the Bavaria Virtess 420 Fly, now in the U.S. after having been named European Boat of the Year a while ago. And, with its combination of German engineering and Italian interior design, it was easy to see why. Powered by two 435-hp Volvo diesels with Volvo’s IPS fingertip joystick control, the Bavaria 420 tops out at about 33 knots, and its 18-degrees of deadrise at the transom mean she can perform even in heavy seas. Overall, the…
