Danish Inventor Found Guilty of Killing Journalist on His Homemade Submarine

A court in Copenhagen just found Peter Madsen, the Danish inventor, guilty of what prosecutors called the “heinous and repulsive” killing of Swedish journalist Kim Wall when she went to interview him on his 56-foot homemade submarine last August 10. (The picture above right shows the two of them on the sub.) Madsen, 47, admitted dismembering her body and discarding it at sea, but said her death was an accident. Police Say Danish Inventor Abused Journalist Kim Wall in His Homemade Submarine Before He Killed Her

This story just keeps getting worse and worse. Now, prosecutors in Copenhagen say that Peter Madsen, a Danish inventor, abused freelance journalist Kim Wall on his homemade 56-foot submarine before he killed her and dismembered her body last Aug. 10. The picture above shows the sub underway in Copenhagen harbor on that day. Madsen, 46, previously told police he had dismembered her body after “a terrible accident” on the sub but denied that he had killed her. Journalist Was Stabbed 14 Times in Danish Submarine Case, Autopsy Shows

Kim Wall, the American-educated journalist who was last seen on Aug. 10 when she went for a ride on Peter Madsen’s homemade submarine in Copenhagen, had been stabbed 14 times before she died, according to authorities there. Wall, 30, was born in Sweden but graduated from The Columbia School of Journalism in New York and had written for The New York Times. She went out with Madsen on his 55-foot sub for a story.
