Lyman-Morse just announced that it’s building a new cold-molded Hood 42 flybridge cruiser, representing the third joint venture between Lyman-Morse, in Thomaston, Maine, and C.W. Lyman-Morse in Thomaston, Maine, just announced that it’s building a new Monhegan 42 Down East cruiser designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The new 42 is the third in Lyman-Morse’s semi-custom Monhegan series, and it shows how an owner can customize an existing platform to suit his or her specific needs. Lyman-Morse in Thomaston, Maine, is building a new semi-custom version of the Ray Hunt-designed Monhegan 42, a seakindly, fast and comfortable cruising yacht. Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding has started work on the first flybridge version of the Hood 35 LM at its yard in Thomaston, Maine. The new 35 with classic Down East lines will be launched this summer. For the past 42 years, Lyman-Morse, based in Thomaston, Maine, has been building boats ranging from carbon-fiber racing sailboats to luxurious Down East powerboats, creating a mix of cutting-edge technology and traditional craftsmanship. Navier Raises Money, Makes Boats in Maine

Navier, a San Francisco startup, just raised $7.2 million in seed money to build its all-electric foiling boats at the Lyman-Morse plant in Thomaston, Maine. Navier announced that the seed money came from Global Founders Capital and Treble, among other firms, plus some individual investors.
