Popular Prestige 520: Still Going Strong

Ever since it was first introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2017, the Prestige 520 flybridge motoryacht has been one of the French builder’s most popular models. Taking a good look at the newest 520, continually updated through the years, helps to understand why. The Prestige 520 is an elegant, comfortable, easy-to-handle cruiser, with separate social areas in almost every direction. The salon, with an aft galley that serves the cockpit as well as the flybridge, has large windows that provide views all around. In the salon, says Camillo Garroni, of Garroni Design in Genoa, who designed the yacht,…

Prestige X70: Spirit of a Superyacht

Prestige, the upscale French builder, says its X70 provides all the spirit and space of a superyacht, while blurring the lines between the interior and exterior areas of the yacht. The X70 does indeed provide a lot of space, even for its 71-foot-plus size. The salon is full beam, because the side decks have been moved up to the flybridge. Then the aft deck/beach club/swim platform area is considerably larger than usual, creating lots of outdoor space for lounging, sun bathing, entertaining and water sports. The new Prestige was designed by the Garroni Design studio in Genoa, and it has…

Prestige To Unveil New Upscale F4 at Cannes

Prestige, the upscale French builder, will hold the global premiere of its new almost-50-foot F4 flybridge yacht at the Cannes Yachting Festival, starting Sept. 12. The new Prestige comes with some heavy-hitting names. Garroni Design of Genoa, which has worked on everything from cruise liners to superyachts, did the lines, while Michael Peters, the Sarasota-based naval architect who has worked on everything from Hinckleys to race boats, did the hull. Powered by twin 480-hp Volvo IPS650 pod drives, the new F4 is expected to cruise comfortably and efficiently in the 22-knot range, and top out at 27 knots. Prestige says…

New Prestige 420S Low-Profile Cruiser

It’s easy to use, and to like, the new Prestige 420S cruiser, a low-profile coupe with stylish lines and  an open, flowing interior. They’re all designed by the Garroni studios in Genoa; Garroni Design’s portfolio includes everything from sailboats and motoryachts to cruise liners. Prestige Unveils New 65-Foot Power Cat

Prestige, the upscale French builder, is doubling down on its power catamaran line. It launched its first power cat, the M48, last summer. Now, it says it’s making a new M8 that’s 65 feet long and has as much room as a five-bedroom house. The new M8 will have  the same semi-planing hull as the M48, with the same profile designed to look like a monohull. Its 19-foot beam is large enough to provide a lot of room inside and outside the boat, but it’s relatively narrow in terms of a 65-foot cat. The foredeck on the M8 is unusual;…

New Prestige 690 with Swarovski Interior

Prestige Yachts, the upscale French builder, is taking the world of luxurious yacht interiors to a new level. Prestige just formed a partnership with Swarovski, the Austrian maker of world-famous crystal glass since 1862, to design a limited-edition Prestige 690 with lavish, light-catching and over-the-top Swarovski surfaces and inserts. For the new yacht, Prestige and Swarovski redesigned the standard interior of a 690 to create panels of Swarovski’s unique Crystal Compound elements, made from a complex glass panel with Swarovski crystals. The decorative panels are created with a glass backdrop with the embedded crystals. They are then combined with grey…

Erwin Bamps, the Prestige general manager, made the announcement at a Groupe Beneteau press conference at the Cannes Yachting Festival. He did not reveal any details, and said he would have much more about the new cat at the Düsseldorf boat show in January. But Bamps did say the cat was an expansion of the company’s “private island concept” and it would be aimed at both the charter and owner-operator markets…
