SACs Rebel 50: A Luxurious RIB

The SACS Rebel 50, recently introduced to the U.S. at the Palm Beach show, just may be the most luxurious RIB in the world. It’s certainly one of the most good looking, and it comes with the fit and finish of a five-star motoryacht. Actually, the Italian-built Rebel 50 isn’t a traditional RIB at all; it’s somewhat in its own category. New 50-Knot Electric RIB from eD-TEC

A German start-up is now starting sea trials on its new all-electric, high-performance 31-foot RIB that cruises at 30 knots and hits 50 knots at its top speed. The company is called eD-TEC, which stands for Electric Driven Technology. Based in Munich, the company was founded by Michael Jost, the former chief strategy officer for Volkswagen, and the new carbon-fiber monohull was developed by Sven Akermann, who’s been designing performance sail and power boats since 2007. Highfield Launching New Electric RIBs

Highfield just announced it will display a new electric-powered RIB at the Annapolis show starting October 5, and a new electric-jet RIB and a new Sport RIB at the Fort Lauderdale show later in the month. The Annapolis powerboat show will be the debut for the Highfield Classic 340E (pictured) powered by a 9.9 Navy 6.0 Evo electric outboard from ePropulsion. Technohull Launches New 38 with Fashion Brand

If you want to see what’s possible with a RIB, take a look at the new Aimé Leon Dore/Technohull 38 Grand Sport, the result of a collaboration between the New York-based fashion brand and the upscale Greek builder. The new RIB has Technohull’s signature black color, with rich green tubes and custom Aimé Leon Dore offshore branding, including premium marine seats and tonal embroidering. Argos Nautic GT14: High-Style RIB

Argos Nautic has launched its new Italian-styled GT14 luxury RIB tender, designed by Patrizio Facheris. Argos Nautics are built in South Florida, and have a showroom in Miami. Facheris Design is in North Miami Beach, and is known for its prize-winning superyachts, although it also has designed some production boats, most recently the Cruisers Cantius line. With its distinct European look, the new Argos Nautic GT14 is meant to offer a balance of comfort and performance, with the extra appeal of easy maintenance. Techohull Building 48-Foot, 86-Knot RIB

Technohull, the Greek builder of high-performance RIBs, is building a new 48-foot luxury craft with a top speed of 86 knots. Technohull’s new Omega 48 will be powered by five 450-hp outboards. Technohull Building 2,250-hp Luxury RIB

Technohull just unveiled its new Omega 48 RIB, a luxury beast that can hold up to five 450-hp outboards. The Greek builder says the Omega 48 offers a fresh perspective on RIB performance, and that its ventilated deep-V hull design will provide a comfortable ride even in rough sea conditions. Williams Unveils New, Improved DieselJet Tenders

Williams Jet Tenders just announced it was upgrading the two largest RIBS in its DieselJet range, and launched one, the 565 model (pictured here) that’s more than 18 feet long, at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The larger 625 model will be launched soon. They both have a new look and layout with all-new decks optimized to provide more space. Highfield To Launch 2 New RIBS in Lauderdale

Highfield just announced that it will launch two new sport RIBs at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, starting Oct. 26. For the U.S. market, Highfield will introduce the Sport 900, an almost 30-foot company flagship, and the slightly smaller 25-foot Sport 760. Highfield has been making premium aluminum-hulled RIBs from 10 to 30 feet in China since 2011; they are now sold in 38 countries around the world. Sergio Davi Finishes 9,201-nm Voyage in LA

In a major triumph for one man’s will and determination, Sergio Davi, a 65-year-old Italian adventurer, just arrived in Los Angeles, completing his 9,201-nm voyage from Sicily on his 37-foot RIB. Davi was greeted at the dock by officials from Suzuki, the Italian consulate in LA, and some fishermen from Terrasihi, a small fishing village near Palermo, where Davi started his trip on Dec. 15. The route took Davi along three continents (Europe, Africa and the Americas), and included a 6-day, 8-hour, 1,770-nm crossing of the Atlantic from Cape Verde off Africa to French Guyana in South America.
