The Moorings is opening a new charter base in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, offering a variety of charter options for some of the most beautiful destinations in the Caribbean.
Crewed charters will be available in February, The Moorings said, while bareboat sail and power charters start in March. The charters operate out of Yacht Haven Grande Marina in Charlotte Amalie, just a ten-minute drive from Cyril E. King Airport, with many direct flights from the U.S.
Yacht Haven Grande (pictured below) is a luxury full-service marina, with immigration services, shopping, dining, pool, tennis courts, Wi-Fi and a business center. Once you leave the marina, your charter destinations include St. John and St. Croix and the waters of the U.S. Virgins, perfect for watersports, snorkeling, diving, fishing and simply cruising and relaxing.
For power charters, The Moorings fleet includes the Moorings 433 power cat (pictured at top), with three staterooms, two heads, and room for two people to sleep on a convertible sofa in the salon. The genset provides air conditioning throughout the yacht, and it comes with a full suite of Raymarine electronics (although navigation is pretty easy most of the time in the Virgins).
Below, the master cabin fills the entire starboard hull, with a large double bed and private head. The two other cabins, both with double beds, share a head on the port side.
The galley is forward in the salon, while a forward-facing settee and table are aft. Large sliding glass doors open to the cockpit. Another door from salon opens to the foredeck. Up top, the flybridge has lounge seating, a wet bar, access to the sunbathing platform forward, and a full helm station. The 433 is powered by twin 320-hp Yanmar diesels.
