It’s hard to tell whether the new Tiara C39, the smallest in the company’s coupe series, is a solid couple’s cruiser or a big, fast day boat with enough entertaining space for a small crowd. But in reality, you don’t need to choose: This new Tiara is both.

Designed on the same lines as the earlier 50 and 44 coupes, the new 39 has a thoroughly modern interior and the high-tech performance associated with its twin Volvo IPS 500 pod drives with fingertip joystick controls. The boat cruises at 26 knots and tops out at 35 knots, fast enough to get you and your family or friends where you want to go comfortably and safely.

Below, the C39 has a master stateroom forward, with a queen bed on a pedestal berth with storage underneath, plus more in the cedar hanging locker. The en suite head has a separate stall shower, and also serves as the day head. Just aft is the guest stateroom with a full-sized berth plus a settee that could be an additional sleeping space. This arrangement is designed for a small family or two couples, giving privacy and comfortable accommodations to everyone involved.

The main deck is all one level, making socializing easy. Twin gates from the swim platform lead to the cockpit, which has a well-padded center bench settee and a high-gloss, high-low teak table. An electric grill is built into the aft section of the settee, along with the entrance to a huge trunk storage space.

From the cockpit, you enter the salon through a large glass sliding door, leading immediately to the galley to starboard. With a Kenyon two-burner recessed cooktop, fridge/freezer and convection microwave, the galley serves as central point for socializing whether people are inside or out.

The ergonomic helm has Volvo’s Glass Cockpit with fully integrated electronics and engine controls on two 12-inch displays. The Volvo Joystick Plus Control sits to the right of the helm on a molded-in armrest. The helm has a 17.5-inch leather-trimmed wheel, and seating for two. A large L-shaped dining settee and table are across from the helm. A manually retractable sunroof and large windows all around let in lots of natural light. Built with Tiara’s legendary quality, the C39 offers a ride that is quiet, solid and smooth.
