Worried about hitting the dock when you’re coming back to your slip? Well, who isn’t. But here’s something new to protect your boat, in addition to all the fenders that you’ve already hung over the side. It’s called ParmaFender, and it’s actually an air-filled series of chambers that act as fenders along the side of the dock, so you won’t have to worry about scratching your hull the next time you come home.
ParmaFender also offers another benefit, as you can see in the picture above. King Harald and Queen Sonya of Norway don’t have to worry about stepping over a fender deployed from their royal barge when they climb aboard; the ParmaFenders deployed along the dock make it easier to step aboard.
The patented ParmaFender is a continuous chain of air-filled thermoplastic polyurethane material (similar to what’s used in most boat fenders) with a valve hose running through them to make it easy to fill them all in one operation. It comes in lengths or coils which you can fit easily to work on your dock. There’s a mounting surface between each segment so you can nail or screw them to the dock. And they can be placed around 90-degree corners.
If you’re not worried about protecting your own royal yacht, see the picture of ParmaFender in action below to protect a boat that may look more like one of ours.
