Just on case you need an extra nudge to sign up for that next charter or plan your next cruise in the Caribbean, here are ten great things to do, once you’re there. This highlights list, compiled by The Moorings, the world-wide charter powerhouse, covers a lot of bases, including some that are old-hat to me (and I suspect a lot of others) and some that are new. Even the old-hat ones have an evergreen appeal. After all, if you’re in the neighborhood, who wouldn’t want to at least think about heading over to Foxy’s or the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke in the BVI for a Painkiller at the end a cruising day?
But if you’re looking for more, or some new experiences (after you’ve relaxed on the Caribbean’s beautiful white-sand beaches or explored its crystal-clear, light blue-water anchorages and coves), consider a trip to Moliniere Bay in Grenada, with its 65 works of art in an underwater sculpture park. Or hike up the Pitons on St. Lucia. Oh, and if you want to sample a Painkiller at home before your next trip to Jost Van Dyke, mix up some rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut and orange juice and sprinkle some nutmeg on top.
