Sunreef has just introduced an elegant new 80-foot catamaran which it says is “the universal multihull yacht for long cruises in ultimate comfort.” The new 80 Sunreef Power is indeed a combination of luxury, space and cruising efficiency, and it’s filled with living, relaxing and entertaining areas spread throughout the boat.
The 80 Sunreef Power is distinguished by its dynamic and contemporary multihull design. The basic design calls for four guest cabins, but the interior can be customized to suit an individual owner’s wishes. It features classic stainless steel portlights, teak decks and high bulwarks for safety.
But the overriding impression is one of light and space. The salon, taking advantage of the boat’s 39’4” beam, is simply enormous, and has glass windows and doors all around. The helm station is forward, to starboard; a long sofa extends across the forward part of the salon, with a smaller one forward to port. A large round table seating ten is centered, a bit aft.
Glass doors lead back to the cockpit, which has a wet bar, sunpad and a table seating five. The swim platform is flanked on each side by five steps leading up to the cockpit; the transom lifts up for entry to the garage, which is large enough to hold a dinghy, jet skis and water toys. From the salon you also can walk to the foredeck, which has a massive sunpad plus two more lounging areas with tables. On the flybridge, the helm is centered with seating on both sides. A circular Jacuzzi and a bar module are a bit aft while a large sunpad stretches across the back.
The accommodation deck below fits into the twin hulls, and Sunreef emphasizes that it can be customized into many versions. In the basic plan, the master stateroom is forward and a guest stateroom is aft on the port side; two similar staterooms are in the starboard side, with a crew cabin all the way aft. All the cabins have en suite heads and large vertical windows. In another version, the galley can be placed down in the port hull, aft of the master stateroom. Either way, there are storage areas all around.
Started in 2002 in Gdansk, Poland, Sunreef has made more than 100 multihull yachts that are cruising all around the world.
