Aquila Launches Redesigned 32 Sports Cat

Aquila just launched a redesign of its popular, outboard-powered 32 catamaran, with a new hardtop, upgraded seating and more space for living and cruising on board. The 32 has a cabin below in the port hull where two people can sleep comfortably; two more could sleep in the salon; a head is in the starboard hull.

With a 12’ 8” beam, the Aquila 32 has room for a family or group of friends to enjoy a day on the water; indeed, it can hold 14 people. The foredeck is particularly inviting, with two comfortable lounges, with arm rests, affording privacy and a view ahead.

You can climb on the boat from a large swim platform that extends around and aft of the two outboards (225-hp Mercury powerplants are standard; 300-hp Verados are upgrades). Push a button at the helm and the entire swim platform descends to water level for easy access to water sports.

The aft deck has two large lounges with backrests that can be reversed so you can face forward or aft. A shower outlet is under the starboard lounge, so you can rinse off after a swim.

The 32 has a dinette seating four, with a table on the starboard side. A galley has a grill, fridge, sink and cutting board. The helm, on the starboard side, has a two-person seat; another two-person seat is to port.

The hardtop is large, providing protection against the sun and inclement weather. Two opening sun roofs offer extra light and ventilation.

The redesigned Aquila has just 9’ 7” of air draft, so it can slide easily under most of the bridges in Florida or on the Great Loop.

Aquilas are made by Sino Eagle in China, and sold to private buyers by MarineMax, the largest boat retailer in the U.S. with 77 locations; they also are put into the MarineMax Vacations charter fleet in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.

Specs.: LOA: 32’4”; Beam: 12’8”; Draft (with outboards up): 1’10”; Disp.: 15,100 lbs.; Fuel: 252 gals.; Water: 45 gals.; Power: 2×225-hp Mercury outboards; Optional: 2×300-hp Mercury Verado outboards. Read more:
