Just when you think you’ve seen it all: Here’s a new stabilized pool table for yachts, brought to you by Bugatti, the French luxury car maker. It costs about $300,000, but then if you can afford a yacht large enough to hold the pool table, that might not be an issue.
Bugatti says this is the most expensive pool table ever built. It’s a high-tech, carbon-fiber pool table with gyroscopic sensors to keep the surface stable, even when the yacht is on a gnarly passage (although there’s a very good chance that a yacht large enough to hold the pool table would also be equipped with its own stabilizers).
Each leg of the pool table is made to compensate for the movement of the yacht, so the table will stay perfectly level. The system adjusts in five milliseconds, and the movement is silent and vibration-free.
The limited-edition pool table is being built by IXO, a Spanish carbon-fiber specialist. An American Bugatti enthusiast has table number one. Bugatti says it will make only 30 tables.
The table comes with a box of tournament-quality balls and a wall cue support made from carbon fiber; it has a 13-inch hi-res touch screen to keep score. The pool cues are also made from carbon fiber, so they’re ultra-light, with anodized aluminum at the ends to mirror some of the interior design of Bugatti cars.
The ball pockets are made with stainless steel and lined with leather; the fittings have titanium screws and nuts to avoid corrosion. The entire pool table package also includes a matching ceiling lamp – also made in carbon fiber.
Pedro Sanchez, the general manager of IXO, says that when they started making the Bugatti pool table, “We knew we had to be different and excel in all areas in order to extraordinary. We pour our hearts into our creations. Nothing has been spared.” Read more https://www.bugatti.com/lifestyle/ixo-pool-tabl and see the video below:
