The Moorings has just announced that its flagship 534 Power Cat is available for charter in the British Virgin Islands (pictured above), St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Abacos in the Bahamas.
The new 534 is built by Robertson & Caine in South Africa, and has accommodations for eight people in four staterooms, all with en suite heads, making it particularly appealing for a large family or group of friends. The cat also is air conditioned, so everyone can be comfortable on board during the day or night.
The cabins are built for the easy living. The queen-sized beds are set low so you can get in and out easily, and there are wall lights and bedside tables, just like home.
The flybridge is large and protected by a hardtop and you can enclose the front and sides and deploy the aft sunshade. It has an upper helm station (there’s a lower one in the salon), plus a wet bar (housing a 12V fridge) and electric grill. There’s a U-shaped settee for relaxing and lounging pads for sunbathing. More lounging pads are on the foredeck.
The main deck has an open plan, with windows all around, and the galley and salon blend into one large living area. The salon has a folding dining table, seating, and a flatscreen TV. A door from the front of the salon opens to the foredeck.
The galley has a four-burner gas stove, a double-door fridge, dishwasher, microwave and even a spice rack.
The cat’s beam (more than 25 feet) is almost half its length, so there’s lots of space everywhere on the boat.
Power comes from twin 350-hp Yanmar diesels, so you can cruise easily from one anchorage to another, and a bow thruster in the port hull makes docking easy.
