The new Absolute Navetta 58 will be on display at the big Miami show, starting Feb. 15. It’s in the middle of the Italian builder’s Navetta, or “little ship” line, and it’s a comfortable flybridge cruiser with Volvo IPS efficiency and power.
The Navetta 58 has three cabins, all with en suite heads, below, plus a crew cabin with two berths and its own head accessed from the transom for privacy. A door leads from that cabin to the engine room, with two 600-hp Volvo IPS800 pod drives. The Navetta’s engine room is well laid out, with 5’ 8” of headroom. You can also access the engine room from a large hatch in the cockpit.
The twin Volvos produce a top speed of 27 knots with a 242-nm range. Dial all the way back to 6 knots, and the range goes up to 880 nm.
Visibility from the lower helm is clear all around; there are no pillars on the front windshield to block the view. The helm is ergonomic, and the leather helm seat slides fore and aft.
There’s a sliding glass window over on the port side, and there’s also a window built into the watertight door next to the helm that opens to the starboard side deck. Two large sofas and a table are centered in the salon, and the L-shaped galley is aft, to port, with a dinette to starboard. The galley is designed for cruising, with large counters, a full-sized fridge, a four-burner cooktop and a dishwasher; an electric sliding glass partition opens to serve the aft deck.
The flybridge has a centered helm with a single seat but lounge seating on both sides, plus a large lounge and social area aft.
Below, there are two large double cabins, the master amidships and the VIP forward. Both have large windows, ample wardrobes, desks, vanities and en suite heads. The third, smaller, guest cabin has twin beds that can be joined electrically into a double berth; it too has an en suite head.
