Ocean Alexander has launched its new 28E, the latest model in its Explorer line. The new 94-foot cruiser has some creative features, including a master stateroom on the main deck and an elegant teak-covered aft deck that seems to just keep on going.

The 28E should live up to its Explorer designation. Standard power comes from two 1,650-hp MAN diesels, and the yacht carries 2,980 gallons of fuel. That combination gives it a top speed of 19.8 knots and a range of 844 nm at 11 knots, or almost 2,100 nm at 7 knots.

The interior was designed by Evan Marshall, the award-winning, London-based superyacht designer. The main-deck master stateroom stands out for its size and location and a single piece of curved glass that seems to float above the king-sized bed there.

And the aft deck has 332 square feet of open deck space providing access to the water for swimming, toys, float planes, whatever. The deck can be made even larger with bulwarks that fold down on both sides, widening the beam from 20’ 8” to 26’ 10,” meaning no one is going to feel cramped for space there. An owner can stow two PWCs there or a 16-foot tender that can be launched b y a 2,500-pound crane.

The salon has an aft-facing L-shaped sofa that can seat at least six people, plus more occasional seating and a dining table seating 10. The galley features top-of-the-line appliances and stone countertops.  The side windows are large; everyone can enjoy the view.

Stairs on the starboard side lead up to the sky lounge and the yacht’s helm station. It has three helm seats and three 24-inch Garmin screens. A wet bar is aft to starboard, plus a custom grill, opposite a sofa for four and a coffee table. A sliding glass door leads aft where an owner can choose either another large dining area, two sofas, or a four-person hot tub.

On the lower accommodations deck, the VIP stateroom is in the bow with two more staterooms amidships and a fourth, smaller stateroom on the starboard side.
