Outer Reef just shipped the first hull of its new Azure 670 Sports Yacht. It was loaded onto a container ship in Taiwan, and it’s now heading for its new owners in the U.S.

The new Outer Reef, made for outdoor enthusiasts, has two exterior features that will make cruising a pleasure. A Serenity Foredeck Lounge is accessed by gates on each side of the Portuguese bridge, offering a private social area separate from the rest of the yacht. It can be converted to a full-sized dining area for eight, or transitioned into a luxurious sunbathing lounge. For refreshments, it has a fridge and cooler hidden under the seating; for comfort, a sunshade can be deployed over the entire area.

The other exterior feature is all the way aft, a state-of-the-art hydraulic integral sports platform. It can be submerged into the water for easy launching of tenders or for water sports, or raised, if anyone wants a diving platform.

The new Outer Reef also has an indoor/outdoor galley aft with a glass wall that lowers to connect the salon with the aft deck for easy entertaining and al fresco dining.

The new owners eventually hope to live on board, but the husband is active as a cardio-thoracic surgeon so they will be using the boat for relaxing and restoration in the meantime. When they’re ready, the Azure 670 can take them just about anywhere they want; it has a range of 1,500 nm, and it’s tough. Indeed, an 88-foot Outer Reef rounded Cape Horn six years ago with Jeff Druek, the company’s president and CEO, on board.

The 670 Azure has the same specs as the Outer Reef 640 Azure, but with an extended sports platform. It’s a three-stateroom, three-head motoryacht with two crew cabins and a head aft. The elevated salon offers 360-degree views from windows all around.

Outer Reef is known for its engine rooms, and the 670 has a walk-in, stand-up engine room with space all around. It’s acoustically insulated with sound-absorbing material.

Specs. (640 Azure): LOA: 64’1”; Beam: 17’2”; Draft: 4’10”; Disp.: NA: Fuel: 1,000 gals.; Water: 300 gals.; Power: 2×500-hp John Deere or 2×476 CATs. Read more at http://outerreefyachts.com and see the video below:
