The first in a new line of what the company calls luxury houseyachts, the Reina 44 will arrive in Miami from the factory in Turkey next month and make its global debut at the Fort Lauderdale show in October.
Reina says it has launched a new category of boat that combines the best of a yacht, a power catamaran, and a houseboat. The new Reinas are built to serve both as a yacht and as a luxury home on the water.
The builder, Reina Boats, was founded by Hayri Dayi and Emin Günal, who saw the leap of interest in family boating during the Covid pandemic and thought they could design a different kind of vessel with lots of space and home-like amenities for people new to the sport.
“Many boats do not have the living space to provide all the accommodations and comforts people want,” Günal said. “Power catamarans offer more volume, but also have become quite expensive. That left houseboats as the only option.”
Dayi and Günal thought that most houseboats have a dated look. They saw the design of a houseyacht as the more modern answer, a place where a family could spend a cruising vacation together and then use as a waterfront home in a marina.
“We are creating a whole new way of liveaboard cruising and recreational boating with designs that merge luxury and accessibility,” said Günal.
Reina now has a line of 26-, 34-, 44-, and 60-foot models, ranging from a “floating RV” to a two-story “waterfront condo.” Each one is built with an upscale look and includes high-quality appliances and furniture and smart-home technology.
The hulls are made of marine-grade aluminum, and all the boats are powered by Mercury outboards. They meet CE Class C, ABYC, and U.S. Coast Guard standards. The company offers lithium-ion phosphate batteries as an alternative power source, eliminating the need to run a generator.
