Absolute just announced that they’re making a new Navetta 70 that they’ll launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival next September.
The new 70 represents a new direction for the Italian yard. The Navetta 70 will keep much of Absolute’s original architecture, including the open lateral gunwales, covered walkways, extensive glazing on the main and lower decks, fold-out terraces in the cockpit, high ceilings, and minimal use of steps to make moving around the yacht safe and easy.
But now it will introduce a contemporary interior with bleached wood and bronze finishes, a larger galley, and an enlarged flybridge that’s a major social center for relaxing and dining and that will hold a suite of solar panels to support eco-friendly cruising and independence.
Absolute’s Navetta line has six models, from 48 to 75 feet. In announcing the 70, Absolute said, “The new Navetta heralds an exciting new era in luxury yacht design.”
You can reach the new flybridge via a covered stairwell from the cockpit. The helm station with a single chair is centered forward, and it’s flanked by luxury seating on both sides. A free-standing table for eight is a bit aft, with a wet bar and outdoor galley. More designer furniture is farther aft that can be rearranged to fit the guests’ desires and the weather. An opening sunroof is up top.
The teak swim platform all the way aft is large enough to support water sports. The cockpit, with a teak deck, has facing sofas, a table and an ice-maker. Terraces fold out of each side to expand the usable social space. The cockpit also has a third docking station (in addition to the lower and upper helm stations) to make maneuvering easy around a dock. The entire area can be protected by a sunshade.
Sliding glass doors lead to the salon, with large windows on both sides and an open plan promoting easy movement. A circular motif is repeated on the ceiling. The galley is in the center of the salon on the starboard side, so it can serve as a social area. Lounge seating is all around, with a dining table seating eight. Two captains’ chairs face the helm.
Outside, an inviting U-shaped lounge is under the windshield on the foredeck. A large sun pad is forward.
Below, a master cabin is in the bow, and what Absolute calls a second master cabin is full-beam amidships. A third cabin has twin berths that can be connected by pushing a button. Crew quarters are aft and have a separate head and galley.
