Beneteau, the large French builder, will be displaying its new Gran Turismo 41 at the big Miami show, starting Feb. 14. The two-cabin, one-head express cruiser with sporty lines is made for entertaining and enjoying time on board, whether on a week-long cruise or an evening in the harbor.
Standard power comes from two 380-hp Volvo diesels, producing a top speed of about 38 knots. The Gran Turismo 41 has Beneteau’s Air Step hull for faster acceleration, performance and efficiency. The hull has V-shaped steps and rear pads for an air-cushion effect.
Beneteau’s Gran Turismo line has three other models, a 32, 36 and 45. The 41 is ideal for a couple or small family. The owner’s stateroom is forward with a queen bed. The guest stateroom is amidships with two single beds or one double. The large head has a shower with a translucent door. The galley is also below, at the foot of three stairs, and it’s equipped for cruising.
The GT 41 lots of social spaces, starting with the cockpit, accessed by a couple of wide steps up from the teak swim platform that can be lowered electrically into the water for water sports. The cockpit has an outsized sun lounge facing aft; the headrest swings up to for a backrest. There’s a teak table there for breakfast or cocktails, plus a mini galley with a sink, fridge and icemaker to keep refreshments right at hand.
The salon is filled with light from windows all around. A large sun roof opens electrically. Large U-shaped seating is ready for relaxing or entertaining. A Volvo joystick is at the helm for easy maneuvering. Wide side decks lead forward, where there’s another sun lounge with lifting backrests.
Starting price for the Gran Turismo is $615,000.
