Riviera Belize 54 Daybridge: High-End Cruiser

The new Belize 54 Daybridge motoryacht from Riviera manages to have some retro design appeal combined with all the elements that make a high-end family cruiser so appealing.

With three staterooms and two heads and a blue-water hull, the Belize 54 can hold a family of six or a group of friends for an overnight excursion or a long cruise. A convertible dinette in the salon can sleep two more.

Standard power comes from twin 725-hp Volvo IPS950 pod drives, delivering a top speed of 33 knots, and a range of 370 nm at its cruising speed of 20  knots. Volvo’s joystick fingertip controls make docking easy.

Belize and Riviera used to be two companies, with Belize having more of a boutique reputation. The Belize 54 Daybridge and Sedan Express are the only boats not built in Riviera’s factory in Australia. Instead, they’re made at the Kha Shing yard in Taiwan, which has built some 1,300 yachts from 45 to 185 feet (including the Hargrave yacht line) over the past 40 years.

The fit and finish on the Belize 54 Daybridge are almost custom quality; sweeping tinted glass windows surround the salon, with deeply cushioned lounges; the highly polished dining table there has fold-out leaves and can seat up to eight people.

In the cockpit, a bench seat across the transom faces a table that can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button. An electric grill and sink are under a lid on top of the transom, accessible from the swim platform.

The swim platform can be lowered via hydraulics, becoming partly submerged for water sports. The tender garage, with an electric door, is equipped with LED lighting and an electric winch; it can hold a 9’ 8” tender.

The galley, fully equipped for cruising, is aft, with an oven, induction cooktop, fridge and freezer; it’s convenient to serve people inside the salon or outside on the aft deck.

Below, the master stateroom is full-beam amidships with a queen-sized bed. The VIP is forward. They both have en suite heads and showers. The guest cabin is a bit aft.
