Sessa is expanding production of its F48 flybridge cruiser that was recently introduced in the United States. The standard Sessa F48 is a three-cabin, two-head upscale yacht with some Italian flair and a large flybridge meant for entertaining.
Power comes from twin 550-hp Volvo Penta IPS700 pod drives, delivering a cruising speed of 26 knots and a range of 290-nm. Top speed: 35 knots.
The Italian version of the F48 has the galley and pantry area amidships, but for the U.S. market it is located aft, so it can be more integrated into the aft deck and the social and entertaining scene there. A four-part glass door opens to the aft deck.
The overhang from the flybridge protects the aft deck from the weather above. A large sofa is aft, facing a three-part table, and a bar and barbeque add to the entertaining possibilities. The teak swim platform can be lowered below the surface for water sports.
Large windows surround the salon, and there’s a cutout aft so that people sitting there can have even more visibility. The helm seat, forward to starboard, seats two. The F48 comes with Volvo’s joystick control for easy docking, and its Dynamic Position system for keeping the yacht in place. The windows next to the captain can be opened by pressing an electric button.
The flybridge has a large sofa and expandable table, a wet bar and an optional hardtop, plus the upper helm.
Below, the master cabin is forward with a walkaround double bed and en suite head and shower. The other two cabins, with twin beds, are aft on both sides; they share a head.
Sessa has been making boats in Italy since 1968. It now has 13 models from 37 to 68 feet, arranged in Cruiser, Flybridge, and Yacht lines. It also has a factory in Brazil.
