Coming: New Light-Filled Prestige F5

Prestige, the upscale French builder, just announced that it’s making a new 57-foot F5 flybridge motoryacht, a larger version of the 50-foot F4 that it launched at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September.

The new F5 has the same styling as the F4, but with even more glazing in the salon and in the hull sides for the lower accommodations deck. Indeed, the salon sides have almost full-height glass side windows, forward and aft; on the starboard side, they’re separated by a sliding glass door in the middle, designed to give the captain immediate access to the side deck.

The flybridge has a dinette aft, a wet bar, and two centered helm seats surrounded by other seats and sun pads. The optional hard top provides weather protection overhead.

The F5 has a foredeck terrace with skylights on both sides of a sun pad to provide light to the master stateroom below. Like the F4, the owner’s suite is forward, with two guest cabins amidships.

The main deck is laid out like the F4, with ocean views from the galley aft, opening to the cockpit, with lounging and dining areas forward.

Aft, two staircases lead up from the hydraulic swim platform to the cockpit with freestanding lounges that can be arranged in a conventional L-shape or facing each other across the beam so guests can enjoy views to the sides.

Power will probably come from Volvo IPS pod drives with a top speed of around 30 knots.

The F4 is powered by twin 480-hp IPS650 pod drives, with a top speed of about 27 knots. The hull was designed by Michael Peters in Sarasota, Florida. When it launched the F4 last fall, Prestige called it “a mini-superyacht,” saying it was meant for “people going smaller but unwilling to compromise on comfort or lifestyle.”

Prestige is part of the large Beneteau Group.
