Riviera just launched its new 6800 Sport Yacht at the Sanctuary Cove boat show on Australia’s Gold Coast.

The new 68 is the flagship of Riviera’s Sport Yacht series, which already has a 46, 54 and 60. Designed by Luca Valebona, who usually works on superyachts, and the Riviera design team, Riviera’s Sport Yachts are meant to focus on timeless styling, single-level living, ease of operation, and blue-water performance.

You can order the 68 with four cabins and three heads below, or three cabins and a lower lounge replacing a guest cabin on the starboard side. Owners also have a choice of a crew cabin or a utility room.

Wide side decks lead to the forward deck with a premium sound system, two sun beds and lounge seating for eight; it’s a major social center. The aft deck is another one, with a lounge running the width of the transom and an L-shaped dining area seating eight on the forward port side. It’s protected by an electric sun roof overhead.

The swim platform articulates with steps and can be lowered below the water level for swimming or raised to match the level of a dock for easy boarding by pushing a button. Wing doors on the aft deck allow direct access to fixed docks.

From the aft deck, glass doors slide open to the salon. You can lower the electric galley window to serve guests on the aft deck. And you can lower the blinds in the salon to create a cinema room with a large TV rising from a lift. The companion helm seat turns 180 degrees to join the fun.

Below, the master stateroom is full-beam amidships, with a king bed and a two-seat lounge and an en suite head. The VIP stateroom is forward, with a queen bed and its own head. The port guest cabin can be set up with two single beds or one double. The starboard side cabin (in the four-cabin layout) has two single berths overlapping at 90 degrees; it shares a head with the port cabin.

Specs.: LOA: 72’9”; Beam: 18’3”; Draft: 5’4”; Disp.: 77,162 lbs.; Fuel: 1,189 gals.; Water: 211 gals.; Power: 2×1,000-hp Volvo IPS1350 pod drives.
