Sabre just announced that it’s making a new 51 Salon Express that will be launched in the fall of 2025.
The Sabre 51 carries all the classic low-profile, long-sheer Downeast lines that mark the entire Sabre fleet, which now runs consists of a 38 , 43, 45, 48 and 58. The new 51 features social spaces from the cockpit to the foredeck providing lots of room for relaxing or entertaining on a sunset cruise or a two-week vacation.
In a large yacht touch, there’s even a forward bench seat and a sunbed on the foredeck, while the cockpit has aft-facing seats laid out on either side of the glass door opening to the salon, another settee on the starboard side, and an L-shaped settee and table aft. The interior will be filled with light from windows all around, providing 360-degree visibility from the helm.
Power comes from twin 600-hp Volvo IPS800 pod drives controlled by Sabre’s high-tech digital switching system (and the Sabre Connect app). We don’t have the specs yet, but it certainly looks low enough to slide under a lot of the bridges in Florida or along the Great Loop.
We’ve tested every new Sabre over the years, and we can’t wait to climb on this new Maine-built cruiser when it’s built. Stay tuned.
