This week, Hinckley Yachts, which is celebrating both its 100th year in business and the 30th anniversary of the first Picnic Boat, announced the launch of the new Picnic Boat 39, the first model in the line with forward seating.

The new model offers owners and guests an unique boating and social environment in the three distinct but adjoined seating areas – the cockpit, helm area and now the forward lounge—which are perfect for entertaining family and friends.

The access to the forward seating area has been ingeniously engineered with a sliding window mechanism that easily and conveniently opens the passageway from the helm.  Without awkward folding doors and sharp edges to contend with, the transitions to and from the forward lounge have been made practical and seamless.

In making the announcement, Hinckley’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Bryant said, “At Hinckley, we have a meticulous approach to design, obsessing over the details, combining the best DNA of past models with the needs and desires of Hinckley customers today. The overall design language of the Picnic Boat 39 demonstrates our continued commitment to building beautiful, timeless, and highly innovative yachts.”

The 39 joins the Picnic Boat 40 and 37 and becomes the latest design in the line’s 30-year history of building Maine-built, Downeast-style boats of the highest quality. There are now more the 1,000 Picnic Boats that have been delivered to owners in North America and around the world.

The new 39 is equipped with the latest Silent Jet water-jet propulsion that eliminates engine and propellor noise and allows its crew to explore shallow coves and beaches without worrying about exposed propellers. Advanced Jet Stick technology provides pinpoint maneuvering in and out of tight marina slips.

The steering system’s Smart Mode Selection feature provides a quick and easy way to switch from manual to JetStick operations. The Heading Hold steering mode locks the 39 onto its course while the Dock Mode maintains the boat’s position next to a marina float, a mooring ball or a friendly raft up so a single operator can leave the helm to attend to fenders and mooring lines.

Hinckley Picnic Boats have always combined their unique Downeast character and Hinckley classic craftsmanship with state-of-the-art build techniques and the most advanced propulsion and steering technology. The result is a class of boats that look elegantly simple but are in fact are more sophisticated and owner friendly than almost any yachts in the market.

The new 39, with the forward seating feature, will make a handsome addition to the fleet. Learn more about Hinckley Yachts here.
