Offshore Yachts, one of America’s oldest and most respected boat builders, has launched a new series of modern cruisers under the CE series label from 65 to 72 feet.  For the first time, the Newport Beach, California, builder has partnered with a European design firm for the naval architecture of the new CE series.

Baracuda Yacht Design, based in Spain, worked closely with the Offshore team to create a more modern and slightly European looking styling that also will improve fuel efficiency and seakeeping qualities.

The new CE 65 has all of the Offshore DNA, based on a boat building history that began in 1948 and has seen the launch of more than 300 motor yachts, combined with many modern design elements.

As Offshore notes, the new design will have the same soft ride the company’s boats are famous for; they will have the quality of construction that will make the boats last for generations; and, they will have a fit and finish that evokes the classic yacht-style and quality of the past.

But, with Baracuda’s input, the CE series boats have an almost plumb bows that extend the waterline significantly while providing a sharper entry that enhances a smooth ride. They have double-chine hulls that adds volume in the forward sections to increase stability, reduce pitching and eliminate any slapping as the boat passes through waves. The after sections of the hulls are flatter than in the past which enhances acceleration, reduces drag and improves fuel efficiency.

The new CE designs are intended to be filled with light and give those aboard an indoor-outdoor experience. Being connected to the sea and the marine environment has become a meaningful theme in Europe and both Baracuda and Offshore have committed to it.

Each of the four models in the series can be configured as coastal cruisers or as expedition yachts, with many subtle but appropriate differences.

This exciting next generation of Offshore Yachts looks handsome, modern and benefits from the latest design and engineering developments.  Read more here.
