The Finnish builder of stylish, purposeful express cruisers, Sargo introduced their flagship 45 at the Dusseldorf show in 2023. It still is a head turner.
A two or three-cabin express cruiser with a large, all-weather salon, the 45 has a sleek low roof profile, forward windows that are tilted forward and a useful cockpit and slim platform aft. The salon windows are huge and can be opened in warm weather.
Starting at the swim platform, you’ll find a large locker for fenders and docking lines built into the deck. On the port side, a stern anchor and roller is fully integrated into the platform with the rode stowed neatly in a locker inside the cockpit.
The cockpit is fully covered by the hard top and has a table and dinette that will seat five. The walk-around side decks have quite high bulwarks that will feel safe when working on deck and black painted hand rails.
The salon has an inline galley to starboard and a raised dinette across from it that will seat six. The views from the dinette or the helm seats forward offer a full 360-degree panorama.
The 45 can have either two or three sleeping cabins which share the single head. In the two-cabin version the head is enlarged and a shower added.
The 45’s standard power train will have twin Volvo D6s rated at 440-horsepower each. But, you can opt for twin Volvo IPS 650s that boost the horsepower to 960. The 45 has a top end speed of nearly 50 knots and with her deep V hull will provide a stable and soft ride even in chop.
Sargo calls the 45 their Expedition yacht and it would certainly be perfect for the Great Loop, or the ICW, or the inside passage to Alaska. The brand is represented in the U.S. by Inside Passage Yachts in Washington. Read more here.
