Pearl Yachts Brings New 82 and Full Fleet to FLIBS

The British yacht builder Pearl Yachts introduced their brand-new 82 at the Cannes boat show in September and the Bill Dixon design earned top honors for “Best Interior Design” for yachts in its size category.

That’s not surprising. Pearl, which began building yachts in 1998, is a boutique builder of highly refined mini-super yachts from 62 to 95 feet. They maintain limited production because they want to focus their attention on quality instead of quantity. The results are reliably stunning.

The new 82 has the brand’s aggressive lines and modern styling with a racy speed-boat bow and sharply angled glazing in the hulls and salon. The flybridge has been given a sleek look and sits very neatly over the salon without looking boxy. This is a design that is always moving forward.

A five-double-cabin luxury cruiser, the new 82 features the master suite on the main deck level where it makes use of the boat’s full beam and benefits from the light and views via the huge windows. The master head is a proper bathroom with a large separate shower.

Down below, each of the four double cabins has its own head and plenty of storage and hanging space. A crew’s cabin is on the same level with easy access to the foredeck and salon.

The new 82 comes in two versions, the Riviera and the Veranda. The only difference is how the after deck is configured. The Riviera has a large sun bed aft of the bench lounge and the bulwarks on both sides fold down to expand the deck area and provide a true beach-front experience.

The Veranda model replaces the sun bed with two bench settees and a dining table for al fresco meals and does not feature the fold-down bulwarks.

Under the after deck, Pearl has included a vast garage for a large inflatable, jet skis and other water toys.

The 82 has been created for sybaritic living. Up on the flybridge you’ll find a jacuzzi, a full wet bar, a dining area and an acre of sunning beds. On the fore deck, there is another sunning area that can be shaded with what Pearl calls a Bedoin-style awning. And then, aft you have another lounging area.

What sets a Pearl Yachts apart is the builder’s intense attention to fine details. The decors are as elegant as an interior designer can make them and the richness of the wood, marble and fabric finishes are second to none. Winning for “Best Interior Design” at Cannes underscores the builder’s efforts.

Pearl will have their full line at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show starting on October 30. If you are attending, the new Pearl 82 will definitely be worth a closer look. Read more here.
