The Australian builder of hand-crafted cruising boats introduced their flagship, the Maritimo M75, to the U.S market last week at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. They also brought the first new M55 Black Edition to be landed in America.
I had the chance to thoroughly look at the new M745 at FLIBS and saw at once that the flagship represents the pinnacle of Maritimo’s boat building art. When you step aboard, you realize at once how big the boat truly is.
A flybridge, sport cruiser with four cabins below and a spacious salon, the 75 has a huge amount of living space. The swim platform aft joins the cockpit to form a beachfront experience, complete with forward facing bench-sofa, a built-in grill and outdoor galley and a dining table that will seat eight comfortably.
The upper cockpit on the flybridge has a full enclosure so you will enjoy this space in all weather, and is complete with two large lounges and dining table inside, plus a large dinette and a wet bar out in the open after deck.
The salon has the galley aft where it is close to the cockpit and has a breakfast-style raised counter and ample working area. A full-size home refrigerators comes standard. Forward in the solon, there is an L-shaped dinette that has seats for eight and offers spectacular views through the huge salon windows. Across from it, there another lounge area with twin coffee tables.
Down below, the master cabin is amidships and stretches the full width of the hull. This is a true master suite that has a king-size bed, a sofa seating area and plenty of hanging and drawer space. The master head is huge and has the toilet, twin sinks and a full shower stall.
The VIP guest cabin is in the fore-peak and it too stretches to almost the full width of the hull. The walk-around double berth will be easy to make and get in and out of at night. The VIP head also has a separate show stall.
Two twin cabins lie between the master and VIP cabins, with side-by-side berths in the starboard cabin and upper and flower berths to port. These could be guest cabins or berths for children. Owners who will be cruising with a skipper and perhaps crew will be able to offer them very comfortable accommodations in either of these twin cabins.
The M75 has several options for the power plant, starting with the standard twin Sania DI 16s rated at 1,150-horsepower each. For those needing more speed, the engines can be upgraded to MTU diesels rated at either 1380 or 1620-horsepower.
The craftsmanship that goes into the building of a Maritimo is on full display in the M75. The teak decks are impeccable. The fit and finish of the joinery, the built-in furniture and the living spaces exudes mega-yacht, custom quality.
For an adventurous family, the M75 has all the space, comfort and speed to take them far and wide in luxury and safety. Read more here.
