The Italian builder of futuristic day and cruising boats has launched the new Pardo Endurance 72 and it seems the concept from the start was to emphasize the good life, la dolce vita. Designed by BURDISSOCAPPONI Yachts & Design, the new Pardo exudes Italian styling just as does a Lamborghini or an Armani suit. It will premiere in the United States at the Palm Breach Boat show in March.
For Americans, we either love this kind of modern styling or not. But there is little question that Pardo Yachts are distinctive, and their look is sexy, modern and, in a way, purposeful.
The new 72, which was launched last summer but is only recently introduced to the public, has a lot of family fun built into it. In a sense, it’s like a villa in Tuscany but on the water. Here is where your family can retreat from the city to enjoy time together, commune with nature and have some fun. All the while cooking and talking and drinking wine.
There is nothing traditional about the look of the 72. The hard top has a distinct kink in its profile that is mirrored by another kink in the reverse sheer line. The bow angles backward and the windshields on the front of the salon have a reverse workboat angle forward. The huge hull glazing that emits light into the below-decks are angled forward as though being impelled at a high speed.
Italians, like most southern Europeans, take a month off in the summer, usually August. The new 72 has been created just for that lifestyle event. It has large open living spaces, cabins for a family of up to six, and unique places for different generations to gather.
Pardo does not, as of this week, have the 72 up on its website, but the boat is coming to America and if you are in the market for a big, Italian-style family cruiser, the new Pardo Endurance 72 should be on your list.
