Introducing Vinson Catamarans Designed and Built in Turkey without Compromise

This Turkish builder of luxury cruising power catamarans is based in Tuzla near Istanbul, Turkey. The company was started in 2018 and splashed onto the scene in 2020 in the middle to the pandemic with their innovative, aluminum Vinson 80. It turned heads, and not just because it is bright pink.

The founder’s vision was from the start to go big and go with ultimate quality and luxury. So, they followed up the 80 with the Vinson F82 and the Vinson F101.  The F 80 set the bar for the company and let the world know that a new luxury yacht builder had arrived.

The F80 is a three-deck design with a large flying bridge and raised social area, a huge salon with dining for eight, a spacious bar and six bar stools and a vast, roomy cockpit. The foredeck is decked over and the decks all around are traditional teak. In all, there are four large social areas.

The accommodation plan shows a huge master suite with a bull bathroom. There are three guest cabins, with two being a VIP cabins and the other being smaller and with either a double berth or bunkbeds. All told, there are cabins for a party of eight.

The galley is down in the port hull aft and set up to be run by a chef and to be the crew’s social area. The crew quarters are in the bows of both hulls and look large enough and comfortable enough to satisfy a skipper, mate, cook and stewardess.

The concept of living aboard in quiet mode has become increasing attractive and possible as solar panels and batteries become more efficient. The F80’s hardtop over the flying bridge is covered with solar panels that feed the very high-capacity battery bank. This combination should allow the F80 to operate all night while at anchor and running all household systems without having to run the generator.  That’s quiet mode.

Although a new company, Vinson is not fly-by-night. It was founded by and is a subsidiary of VIA Properties, an international brand involved in real estate, entertainment, construction and resort properties. The Tuzla marina, with 1,100 slips, is one of VIA’s businesses.

Vinson F catamarans are not for everyone, but they are a forceful new entry in the luxury, power cat market and another sign that Turkey is becoming a boat building mecca.
