This year, Williams, the British builder of inflatable, jet-drive dinghies and sport boats, is celebrating 20 years in business. Over those two decades, Williams had become synonymous with high-tech, high-performance boats that are the class of the dinghy and tender market.

The brand is so popular, builders of new boats often design dinghy garages and stern lifting planforms specifically for the Williams dinghy that will go with the new boats.

To celebrate the anniversary, Wiliams is introducing three new models: the SportJet 460 and 520 and the DieselJet 625.

The 460, at 15 feet is a suitable size tender for a mid-size yacht and will fit on many a bridge boat deck or stern platform. It is pictured above. The new design emphasizes the social spaces. Forward, two benches face each other, and these will accommodate four adults. The helm console-engine box is slightly farther aft than in similar models but has seating for two.

The new 520, at 17 feet, uses the additional length to make the forward area larger than on the 460 and to add a storage pod for an anchor and rode and perhaps snorkeling gear.

The DieselJet 625 is 20 feet long and weighs almost twice that of the 520. With a brawny diesel engine, this could easily be classified as a “working boat.” But, for larger yachts, the 625 will make a stable, safe tender that can carry up to 11 people.

Williams has always been an innovator and in their 21st year, they continue the legacy.
