First Look at New Sessa F48 Flybridge Express Cruiser from Italy

On May 31, Sessa Marine, a venerable Italian boatbuilder, launched the all new F48 Flybridge in Europe. The F48 had its initial debut at the boat show in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this winter and at the Miami International show in Florida. In both events, the 48 drew much attention and the plaudits of dealers, customers and the press.

The 48 is a truly Italian-style express cruiser with a large flybridge that has a T-top and a spacious L-shaped settee. The forward inclined windscreen gives the bridge a purposeful look and deflects both wind and spray when running at speed. A useful detail is the retractable sunshade over the settee.

The hull has the ambience of a sportfish design and has the angular hull glazing that is so popular in Europe these days. Note the huge hydraulically raised and lowered swim platform aft and this too has a retractable sunshade over it. This will be the water sports arena.

With a focus on out-door living, Sessa can fit the stern platform with an outdoor galley complete with a grill, fridge and sink. The platform is large enough for folding chairs and a folding bistro-style table so this can become a beachfront taverna for two.

Sessa was founded in 1959 and has built thousands of motorboats over the last 65 years. The new F48 will fit a spot in the mid-range express cruiser market and does so with elan and panache.
