Sunreef is introducing its luxurious and enormous new 80 Power catamaran at the Cannes Yachting Festival, starting Sept. 10. The new multihull, with a sharp and aggressive contemporary hull styling, stretches the boundaries of living and entertaining space to new levels of cruising comfort. Offering power combinations from twin 575-hp diesels to twin 1,200-hp diesels, the new Sunreef 80 Power is designed for long range cruising on a stable and seaworthy platform.
With a beam of more than 39 feet (half its length) the new Sunreef offers extra space from bow to stern. The foredeck has virtual acres of relaxing space (see the picture above), with a massive sun pad and two more lounging areas. All the way aft, the garage is large enough for a dinghy, various water toys and probably just about anything else you’d want to put there. The swim platform lowers for access to the water, but when it’s up it serves as a full-beam bathing or sunning area.
Six steps on each side lead up to the aft deck, with aft and side sun pads, a table for dining al fresco and a wet bar. Large glass doors open to the salon on the same level. The salon has large windows all around, and it can be customized to fit the owner’s wishes. It can have a large galley aft and an elevated lower helm station.
In one configuration, the master stateroom is in the forward section of the salon, with a double bed facing the bow terrace, a dressing area, a desk, and a head with a walk-in shower. In another layout, the master moves to the accommodation deck below, forward in the starboard hull. There’s another large stateroom aft in that hull, and two matching staterooms in the port hull. They all have en suite heads and showers, and large vertical windows for natural light. If the master stateroom is below, the forward part of the salon becomes a large lounge with lots of seating and direct access to the foredeck.
Up top, the flybridge has a centered helm with L-shaped settees and tables on both sides. A bar module is aft on the port side, while an optional Jacuzzi is centered. Large sun pads stretch across the back.
Sunreef was started in Gdansk, Poland, in 2002. It now has more than 100 multihull yachts cruising around the world.
