Yanmar just announced more details about the design of its X47 express cruiser, the Japanese company’s new flagship. The X47 will serve as the Official VIP Cruiser of the 36th America’s Cup, which will hold its final race in Auckland, New Zealand, in March, 2021. Yanmar says it will launch the X47 by the end of this year.
The X47 has flowing and aggressive styling, an opulent interior and large cockpit and bow areas for relaxing and viewing the races. “This is a new category of boat,” says Ken Okuyama, director of Yanmar Holdings. “This combination of the looks and styling of a powerboat with the beautiful, large interior space of a cruiser is something that is unique in the marketplace.” The company says the X47 represents the next generation in its evolution, and showcases its design flair and focus on providing unique experiences for its customers.
The boat has two staterooms with en suite heads and showers on the accommodations deck below. The master is forward with a walkaround bed, while the guest stateroom is aft. They are separated by a salon/lounge area with a U-shaped settee on the port side, which can be converted to a double bed at night; the full galley is to starboard.
The cockpit probably will be the main viewing area, and it has large U-shaped lounge seating for outdoors comfort. Two steps lead down to the swim platform aft, while a door opens to the salon forward. The salon has a large sunroof for light and ventilation and a U-shaped lounge on the port side. The helm, on the starboard side, has two matching helm seats. A sunpad lounge is on the bow. We’ll have more details about the X47 as we get them. Read more:
