Prestige will introduce the upscale, highly designed X60, the second yacht in its new X series, at the Cannes Yachting Festival, starting on Sept. 7. It launched the inaugural yacht in the series, the innovative X70, just a year ago.
The new X60 is a three-stateroom, three-head flybridge motor yacht with an unusually large and open salon. It’s powered by twin 600-hp Cummins diesels with v-drives, producing a cruising speed of about 20 knots and a top speed of 25 knots.
With a combination of curved and straight lines, the X60 has a state-of-the-art European look, all created by Garroni Design, Prestige’s long-standing partner. The interior is open and filled with light, and separate living and social areas are designed in various places throughout the yacht.
The salon is unusual in that it has a large glass door that slides open on the port side aft; the traditional glass door aft leading to the cockpit is large and operated by an electric push button. The front windshield has a reverse rake. The helm station, on the starboard side, has seating for two and a door opening to the side deck. The galley is just aft of the helm, and lounges and sofas are placed farther aft.
The foredeck has a series of sun lounges with retractable backs and storage underneath; it can be covered by a lightweight Bimini.
A lounge and convertible sun pad are aft in the cockpit, with a dining table and occasional chairs. The teak swim platform is supersized, and a beach club folds down from the transom. An optional crew cabin, with private access, is tucked against the transom under the aft deck.
Up top, the flybridge is full beam, and it’s protected by a hardtop with an opening sun roof. The helm station, on the port side, has seating for two people; a settee is opposite it to starboard. An outdoor galley is just aft, with a table, seating six, and more sun lounges aft.
Below, the master cabin is amidships; it has private access via a staircase on the starboard side of the salon. Designed like the owner’s cabin on a megayacht, it has a dressing room, an office, and a home-like head and shower. Large hull-side windows provide lots of light.
The VIP cabin is in the bow, with an island bed and its own head. The third cabin, with two beds, is to port; it shares the day head, to starboard.
