The Moorings just announced that it’s adding the new 464 Powercat to its charter fleet in the British Virgin Islands. The 464 is The Moorings’ second in its new generation of Leopard power catamarans from Robertson & Caine, after the 53.
The 464 is designed to be a home-away-from home for people who are chartering in the BVI; it’s also available for a charter ownership, with significant advantages, for anyone interested in buying it.
The new cat has more interior space than in previous version, plus redesigned cabins and furnishings, zoned air conditioning and separate engine rooms for its twin 320-hp Yanmars. The yacht has a range of 1,600 nm.
It has four cabins, sleeping eight people. One more person can sleep on a convertible sofa in the salon. All the cabins have queen-sized beds, with walking around space, and en suite heads, with electric toilets and showers.
The galley is up on the port side with a home-sized fridge/freezer, a four-burner stove, a dishwasher, and large worktop surfaces. A water-maker is standard. The lower helm is on the starboard side of the salon, and a centerline door leads out to the foredeck, with sun pads, lounging areas and two seats on the pulpits.
The aft deck is covered by a hardtop overhead, and it has a U-shaped settee and a dining table that’s large enough to seat. There also are two folding deck chairs.
On the flybridge, the upper helm is to starboard, and there’s plenty of seating, sun beds, and a wet bar with a fridge and sink.
The boat is scheduled to be in the BVI charter fleet next summer.
