You probably don’t want to climb on the Nazareth Aquadomus for your next cruise to Bermuda, but it certainly looks like it could be fun for the calmer sections of the Great Loop.
The Aquadomus is a 41-foot catamaran that’s basically a houseboat with a flybridge. Built in Portugal by Nazareth Boats, the Aquadomus can hold 12 people in the vast spaces inside and out. It’s powered by two 200-hp outboards, and tops out at 12 knots.
The big boat also has a draft of just 1’ 8,” meaning you can explore all those small coves and gunkholes that usually are accessible only by a kayak or small RIB.
The Aquadomus might be a bit boxy looking, and its low bow and transom tend to hide the void between the two sponsons. And its air draft of 18’ 4” could pose a problem with some bridges.
But it has a standing headroom of 6’ 9” throughout, including a master stateroom forward (with a possible smaller cabin on the starboard side), a house-sized galley midships, and another house-sized living space with an eight-person dining table and settee aft.
There’s room for two sun lounges on the foredeck, and more room on the full-beam swim platform aft. Inside, all the living spaces are filled with light from the large side windows and sliding glass doors fore and aft. The interior is decorated in light, neutral tones.
