The latest entry in the modern Scandinavian minimalist design genre (think Axopar and Saxdor, among others), the new Virtue V10 is made in Poland but the hull is designed in Sweden. It also is made to be powered by gas outboards, reaching speeds of 50 knots, or Evoy electric outboards, that are slower but offer a green, emissions-free propulsion system.
Above all else, the Virtue V10 is meant to be a functional, user-friendly boat. It’s small enough so it can find room at most marinas or anchorages, and it has a beam of 9’ 6” so it can fit on many trailers.
Solar panels on the hardtop support the main charging system so the boat can be fully electric. Standard power is a single 300-hp outboard, with twin 250-hp outboards as an option. But for fossil-free cruising, a single Evoy 120-hp electric outboard is another alternative, working with two liquid-cooled IP67 batteries. Electric power can go up to 180-hp. With the single Evoy, the boat can cruise at 25 knots with a range of about 44 miles.
The Virtue’s Petestep hull features two conventional steps plus concave spray rails that fan out from the keel. They deflect spray down and back; the displaced water creates lift and reduces drag, providing a softer and more fuel-efficient ride.
The foredeck has a double sun lounge with a backrest. The helm has two racing-style seats, while a galley, also under the hardtop, has a fridge, and electric or gas grill, and a sink. Two settees are aft with a table that can fold down so the area can be transformed into a large sunbathing platform.
Below, the Virtue has a V-berth that can sleep two adults, plus a head, shower and storage lockers.
