Apreamare Building New 35 Cabin Cruiser

Apreamare, the Italian builder of modern-day cruisers based on centuries-old Sorrento gozzo boats, just announced that it’s building a new 35 Cabin cruising boat that can be ordered with either straight-shaft or stern-drive power.

The 35 Cabin is a slightly larger and certainly much more protected version of the Apreamare 35 Open that’s already on the market. The Cabin version makes the boat more attractive for owners who cruise in northern areas, or who simply want all-weather protection no matter where they live.

The new boat also looks larger than the open version because of the exterior glazing that provides more light to the accommodations deck below. The deckhouse is filled with light from windows all around; visibility from the helm is excellent.

The protected salon/wheelhouse is separated from the cockpit by a four-section, plate-glass door. Open it, and the two areas merge seamlessly. The galley is aft in the salon, so it easily serves passengers in the cockpit as well. An L-shaped dinette is on the port side, opposite the galley.

The cockpit has L-shaped seating with a table for al fresco dining or entertaining, and the boat has a large sun pad on the foredeck.

Below, the new Apreamare has two cabins and one head. The master cabin is forward, while the guest cabin is amidships.

Apreamares are built on a history of seaworthiness, stability and comfort. The 35 Cabin is meant to be handled by one person. With Volvo D4 engines, the shaft version tops out at 28 knots; the sterndrive version at 30 knots. With shafts, the range is 202 nm at a cruising speed of 23 knots; with sterndrives, the range is 208 nm at a cruising speed of 25 knots.

Specs.: LOA: 36’9”; Beam: 12’2”; Draft: 3’1”; Disp.: 22,046 lbs.; Fuel: NA; Water; NA; Power: 2×270-hp Volvo D4 diesels with shaft drives, or 2×270-hp Volvo D4 sterndrives. Read more:
