Ferretti Building New 80 with Foredeck Terrace

Ferretti just announced that it’s making a new Infynito 80 with a lot of volume inside and out and a creative covered “all season terrace” on the foredeck. It also has a more conventional multi-deck beach club aft.

The Infynito 80 is a smaller sister to the Infynito 90 that was introduced last year, representing something of a design break from the Italian builder’s sleek and luxurious line of motoryachts. The idea is to provide more interior space for relaxing and entertaining on a blue-water cruiser, starting with a raised, plumb bow with lots of beam carried forward. It’s 78 feet long with a 21-foot beam.

It also does not have the traditional tri-deck motoryacht look. Instead, it has a raised pilothouse with aggressively raked windows forward, and a small third deck where a hardtop carries solar panels that are linked to a bank of 14 high-density lithium batteries; they can supply enough power so you don’t have to run the generator at night. And large glazing forward seems to connect the pilothouse and the terrace in an unconventional wide open look.

The terrace forward is a large space protected by high bulwarks and railings so it’s safe. Glazing provides shelter, and a louvered glass roof lets some light through. There is fixed seating fore and aft, and owners can choose either a dinette or a bar for refreshments.

All the way aft, a split-level beach club includes a larger-than-usual swim platform with a “sea view” sofa at the foot of the transom. The cockpit features free-standing furniture that can be rearranged easily to face aft.

There’s no helm on the main deck, so the salon, with large rectangular windows, has a lounging area aft and a dining table and home-kitchen-like galley forward. A drop-down window connects the galley to the foredeck terrace. The helm is on a raised half deck forward in a pilothouse arrangement.

Four large en suite cabins are below, with the master full beam amidships, the VIP forward, and one more on each side. Two crew cabins are also tucked between the engine room and the master stateroom.

Standard power comes from twin 1,400-hp MAN V12 diesels, with a top speed of 23 knots. At 12 knots, the range is 1,000 nm.
