Arksen, the British adventure company, just announced a new 50-percent co-ownership program for its Project Ocean long-range explorer yachts starting this summer.

Jasper Smith, the Arksen founder, says he hopes the co-ownership and charter opportunities spark a spirit of adventure, while offering members a practical second home that’s capable of cruising the world. The program enables members to have ownership of exceptional vessels and access to cruising itineraries with syndicates in Europe, Asia, the U.S. and elsewhere.

Arksen the says the co-ownership program offers:

  • Significantly lower costs, compared to sole ownership.
  • Financial flexibility. You can trade in and out of the syndicate at any time as your needs change.
  • Fully managed fractional ownership. You can choose two to ten weeks on board a year, with all key costs included, so that ownership is hassle-free.
  • Fully equipped vessels with a complete crew and everything you need for adventures at sea.
  • Adventure-themed cruising itineraries. You can start a multi-year cruising program tailored to the spirit of the region you want to visit.
  • Participation in scientific experiments. You can contribute to ocean conservation programs run by Arksen Philanthropy.
  • Community orientation. You can join a like-minded community that shares a passion for adventure and exploration.

Members can sign up for the Arksen 85 Project Ocean that will start with cruises this summer through Northern Europe, including Norway and Iceland, then cruising south to Portugal and the Canaries and crossing the Atlantic to the east coast of the U.S. Next winter it plans to head for the Caribbean, then Central America and the Galapagos. Future plans call for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

Project Ocean has advanced hybrid power and state-of-the-art stabilizers for comfort on board. It cruises at 9 to 12 knots and has a range of 7,000 nm. It can switch seamlessly from diesel to a zero-emissions mode and run silently to a destination because of its solar array and hybrid propulsion.

“Getting off the grid and being challenged by an experience, visiting extraordinary places, eating great food and laughing with people that you love is what makes life special,” says Smith, a high-tech entrepreneur who founded Playjam, the games network. “The Arksen co-ownership program is a testament to our dedication to creating a community-driven, experiential approach to ocean exploration.”
